 T. Michael Watson is a youth development leader, public speaker, and founder of Dare To Be Different (D2BD), a mentoring initiative focused on academic tutoring, mental wellness, and leadership development for at-risk youth. With over 14 years of experience in Atlanta's public and charter schools, Michael also serves as Program Director with Wilderness Works and Head Mentor for Georgia State University's Rising Stars Program. His work has been recognized with honors including Firecode's Youth Leader of the Year (2018) and COGIC's Most Influential Under 40 (2020). Michael is committed to removing barriers and building future leaders through his vision: "Where Change Begins." 

 Tedra S. Carter is an Atlanta native and D2BD mentor who understands firsthand the challenges facing at-risk youth. Raised in an impoverished Atlanta neighborhood, Tedra struggled with anger management and decision-making until a church-based program and a dedicated mentor helped her discover her worth. Despite attending a low-income school with limited opportunities, she persevered through clubs and sports, eventually graduating both high school and college. Now, Tedra provides the same guidance she once received, helping youth overcome adversity and take control of their futures. Her mantra drives her work: "Do good, be great, and keep moving forward." 

 Runeshia Parker is a D2BD mentor who transformed her life after a challenging childhood in Birmingham, AL. Once known as a troubled student, Runeshia's move to Georgia at 13 sparked her desire for change. Inspired by positive role models, she graduated both high school and college despite significant barriers. Now, she provides mentees with the encouragement and support she once received, helping youth overcome economic hardship and self-doubt. Runeshia knows firsthand the power of having someone in your corner. 

 Ricky Woods Sr. is a proud father, entrepreneur, and community mentor whose life journey reflects transformation, resilience, and leadership. Once considered an at-risk youth, Ricky turned his challenges into purpose, dedicating his life to guiding young people toward better choices and brighter futures. His background in marketing, promotion, and catering allows him to teach entrepreneurship and professionalism in creative ways. Ricky incorporates his passion for fishing and the outdoors into his mentoring approach, using nature as a safe, peaceful space for reflection and building trust with youth. 

 Shanna Greer is proudly Georgia-born and New York-raised. In 2017, she returned to Georgia and enrolled at Georgia State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy with a concentration in Nonprofit Leadership and Human Resources. With a passion for community building, Shanna has supported various small businesses and nonprofits across metro Atlanta through grant writing and event coordination. As Community and Events Coordinator at Dare to be Different, she creates inclusive, impactful experiences that unite people and strengthen community bonds. Shanna designs meaningful events, builds strong partnerships, and uses her organizational and outreach skills to amplify community voices and drive D2BD's mission forward.
