Michael Watson is a youth development leader, public speaker, and founder of Dare To Be Different (D2BD), a mentoring initiative focused on academic tutoring, mental wellness, and leadership development for at-risk youth. With over 14 years of experience in Atlanta's public and charter schools, Michael also serves as Program Director with Wilderness Works and Head Mentor for Georgia State University's Rising Stars Program. His work has been recognized with honors including Firecode's Youth Leader of the Year (2018) and COGIC's Most Influential Under 40 (2020). Michael is committed to removing barriers and building future leaders through his vision: "Where Change Begins."

Tedra S. Carter is an Atlanta native and D2BD mentor who understands firsthand the challenges facing at-risk youth. Raised in an impoverished Atlanta neighborhood, Tedra struggled with anger management and decision-making until a church-based program and a dedicated mentor helped her discover her worth. Despite attending a low-income school with limited opportunities, she persevered through clubs and sports, eventually graduating both high school and college. Now, Tedra provides the same guidance she once received, helping youth overcome adversity and take control of their futures. Her mantra drives her work: "Do good, be great, and keep moving forward."
